I am the writer.I have chosen to be called Unchained.Not because I want to be mysterious. But because this is not my story. It is our story. The story of us as people. Every group that suffered. Every group that survived. Every group that built something from the rubble of what was taken from them. This book does not belong to me. It belongs to all of them.I did not write this for a book deal. I did not write this for social media views or speaking fees or any of the things that the market has taught us to chase. I wrote this as a gift. To us. To the human race that has been given every lesson it needs to do better and keeps choosing not to look.If this book reaches five people and two of them finish it and truly understand what is being said here I will call that a victory. Because two people who see the wider lens will show it to others. And those others will show it to others. And that is how truth has always traveled. Not through algorithms. Through human beings choosing each other.I have tried in these pages to honor every group named here with the respect and dignity their suffering and their resilience deserves. I have tried to show that just because they were faced with adversity they finished strong. But most of all they finished together. And that is what every one of them had in common.That is what we have in common.There is no Black history. There is no French history. There is no German history. There is no Jewish history. There is no Irish history. There is no Indigenous history.There is only human history.And it belongs to all of us.- Unchained
