In this deeply reflective work, Fr. John J Gordon explores the sacred mystery of grief, tears, and loss with lyrical depth and theological insight. He captures how sorrow is not merely an emotion to endure but a language of the soul-one that reveals love, memory, longing, and hope. With tenderness and spiritual clarity, Gordon shows how tears become vessels of healing, holding the weight of absence while quietly pointing toward redemption. His writing honors the raw ache of human loss while illuminating the quiet grace hidden within it, inviting readers to see their grief as both profoundly human and profoundly holy.
Rev. John J Gordon, OMI, was ordained to the Catholic priesthood in 2001 and is a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. He currently serves as pastor of St. Mary's Church in downtown San Antonio, where for more than sixteen years he has faithfully ministered to the parish community and to the poor and marginalized who seek assistance along its streets. He is the author of two other books, Upon an Untrodden Path and Distressing Waves. His writing is marked by theological depth, pastoral sensitivity, and a profound attentiveness to the human experience of suffering, grace, and redemption. Through his work, he invites readers to encounter God's abiding presence in both life's trials and its most sacred moments.
