Four college friends. Two weeks. Three thousand miles of open road.
And one detour that should have been a photo op.
When Rhett, Grady, Wesley, and Ellie turn off Route 66 to see Cowpoke Junction - a crumbling Western ghost-town attraction baking in the desert sun - it looks like exactly the kind of weird roadside Americana they crossed the country to find. A boarded saloon. A rusted gold mine. A seven-foot animatronic sheriff named Dusty, frozen mid-draw in the middle of Main Street.
By morning, one of them is gone. The truck won't start. There's no signal for miles. And the attraction everyone thought was dead is beginning, very slowly, to wake up.
Because Cowpoke Junction was never abandoned. Someone has kept the lights working and the speakers wired and the show running for an audience that stopped coming decades ago - and now the show needs a new cast. The only way out is a long desert road, and the road is watched by a mechanical man with a real gun and a simple rule: the performance doesn't end until someone is left to applaud.
To survive the night, Ellie will have to become the one thing Cowpoke Junction cannot forgive. She'll have to stop watching. She'll have to stop looking back. And she'll have to run before the lights come back on.
Attraction is a relentless desert-horror nightmare about friendship, survival, and the terrible things people will do to keep from being forgotten.
