A splendidly produced monograph dedicated to the visual artist Bela Silva.
This exquisite volume invites readers into the captivating world of Bela Silva, a renowned Portuguese contemporary artist and ceramist who is redefining the boundaries of ceramic art. Silva’s universe is vibrant and energetic, teeming with brilliant colors, lush patterns, and fantastical elements. Birds, serpents, plants, and animals dance in harmonious chaos across her sculptures, paintings, and graphic works, blending cultural influences into dreamlike compositions. Each piece serves as a visual story, reflecting her passion for nature, myth, and the mysteries of the human spirit.
The monograph presents a rigorous selection of her most significant pieces, held in both private and major international public collections. It bears witness to her unique ability to fuse traditional ceramic techniques with expressive contemporary art. From monumental sculptures to large-scale drawings and collages, Silva’s bold and tactile art is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and the natural world.
A stunning showpiece—featuring a bespoke cover and stunning fore-edge painting designed by the artist—this volume captures the essence of Bela Silva’s signature style and vision, taking readers into her dreamscape where mythology and imagination converge.
