The power is gone. The taps are next.

Seconds after the EMP, Daniel Mercer discovers that collapse is not clean or uniform. One old truck runs while newer cars sit dead. A few radios survive, but none can say how far the silence reaches. The guarded warehouse holding most of his family's supplies no longer honors its promises.

As sanitation fails and cold nights settle over Central Kentucky, every swimming pool, private tank, and forgotten container becomes a competing claim. Daniel helps build a household roster meant to keep the vulnerable alive, but the numbers cannot account for fear, favoritism, or the medicine his wife still needs. Armed volunteers demand control.
