I have always felt that the influence of Objectivism on society was of paramount importance for the history of civilization. I have felt that Objectivism is the philosophy of the future if there is to be a future. I had assumed that the clarity of Ayn Rand's arguments would win the day of their own accord. I thought that the logic of her arguments and their appeal to reasoning minds would eventually win the day.
Now I am convinced that this was not a certainty and that the arguments of opposite viewpoints have already "programmed" society and nothing could penetrate the coming nihilism no matter how much I tried. I am convinced that moral triangulation has so infested society over thousands of years that it will be virtually impossible for people to reject the ideas of collectivism, altruism and moral dualism which rejection would be required to create a new renaissance in America and the world.
