In Chronic, author Peder Valentine maintains that a now illegal substance could save America's economy, as well as bring many benefits to our society. It is an atrocity that commercials like "Above the Influence" and others portray the common marijuana smoker as someone unable to achieve. It's truly time for a change in America that will give people some hope that things are changing and that will generate the jobs and revenue we all need. America wants its freedom of choice back. The new face of the marijuana user is the contributing citizen of America. Chronic expels the notion of one unable to achieve or advance in life if they smoke marijuana with a case study of a chronic user who conquered the Engineering world. The author hopes that other successful users will also step out and laws will be changed to accommodate the majority of the population, as was done for alcohol.
