La plupart des continas présentées dans ce recueil sont issues de la tradition orale occitane. L’auteur les a recueillie à l’occasion de collectages et d’enquêtes ethnographiquesde terrain. Elles étaient dites autrefois aux enfants pour les bercer, les réveiller, les éveiller ou par les enfants eux-mêmes pour jouer et s’amuser. Elles constituent un véritable trésor populaire d’invention poétique, d’intention éducative ou ludique, de sensibilisation à la nature environnante. Pour faire vivre cette tradition orale, l’auteur a souhaité joindre à ces continas traditionnelles quelques-unes qu’il a lui-même inventées La sélection de ces continas s’est faite en coordination avec des institutrices enseignant dans des classes bilingues français-occitan ou en calandreta (école immersive en occitan). Cet ouvrage est accompagné d’un disque dans lequel l’auteur dit ou chante toutes ces continas, indiquant aux enfants (et à leurs parents) la prononciation, le rythme et la mélodie de façon à ce que petits et grands s’approprientce répertoire.LIVRE AVEC CD AUDIO inclus
