Barrett Bardot had always lived a life cast in shadow. The only bright spot in his life of darkness came in the form of his hero, who shone brighter than the sun itself. Despite the darkness that still loomed, Barrett was happy, content to remain in the shadows, so long as those shadows were born of his protector. It meant that they would be together―always and forever.

But when the two are separated, Barrett's future reroutes itself, forcing him to become his own saviour. And as Barrett now drowns in the spotlight he was so eager to avoid, he finds himself stuck between the life he wants and the one he fears he is destined to have. His dreams of a bigger, brighter future begin to dim as the worries of the world press in on him, leaving him to wonder if it's worth it anymore to resist the inevitable.

Through a series of letters to his idol, Barrett Bardot begs for advice on how to survive the ups and downs of life when life is so adamant on pushing him to the brink of insanity. Will he overcome the struggles of life and come out on top? Or will he collapse at the bottom?
