On 10 October 2023 a policy analyst received a death sentence from his manager. Everything he had done and been ended that day. His crime was flagging a technical problem with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's depositor compensation scheme-the flagship promise to protect ordinary depositors if a bank ever failed.
