Endometriosis occurs when the tissue outlining the uterus from inside happens to grow outside the uterus. It affects the fallopian tubes, ovaries and the tissue lining the pelvis. The tissue similar to endometrial solidifies, breaks down and then bleeds with every menstrual cycle.
