Fallibility

Author Ron Lentz looks back on a long, eventful, and deeply personal life with honesty, humor, gratitude, and humility.

Beginning with his childhood in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Ron recalls the people, family members, neighbourhoods, schools, friendships, hardships, and community traditions that formed his earliest understanding of the world. From the "Bloody Fifth" and the Grant School to high school wrestling, family stories, career changes, marriage, federal service, retirement, and life during the COVID-19 pandemic, this autobiography offers a candid record of one man's journey through nearly nine decades of American life.

The title Fallibility reflects Ron's willingness to acknowledge mistakes, setbacks, uncertainty, and the long process of learning how to move forward. At the same time, the book is also a tribute to resilience, family, memory, loyalty, love, and the people who helped him find his way, especially Jane, Connie, Dave, Ian, and the many relatives, friends, teachers, colleagues, and neighbours who appear throughout these pages.

Filled with personal reflections and family photographs, Fallibility is more than a memoir. It is a record of a life lived through change, struggle, humour, service, and gratitude.
