Finance Words Curious World | Ages 3+

The first money lesson might happen at the bakery.

A child notices a price, watches a payment and wonders why some money comes back. Finance Words takes those familiar moments seriously, giving children ages 3+ and their grown-ups a way to talk about the choices money involves.

Across 16 words, young readers meet money, save, spend, cost, earn, bank, trade, price, budget, invest, share, need, want, change, give and rich. Currency, receipts and everyday purchases connect the language of finance to things children encounter with their families. Questions about saving and sharing also leave room to consider what matters to different people.

Short explanations and picture prompts invite conversation at a child's pace. Four activities carry the reading into daily life, from finding a number on a banknote to choosing a saving goal. Caregiver notes offer more detail when the next question comes along.
