Who is killing women in the tri-state area? Colorado, New Mexico and now Arizona, Gold Valley, to be exact. Three murders. Three states, No clues. Too close to home for Hale's taste. Reluctantly, he calls in the FBI.

Special Agent Emily Jones volunteers as she has been tracking these murders. She is bright, curious, and far more cheerful than Hale thinks any federal agent should be. He just hopes she can keep things professional. Together, they hunt a killer-or killers-who seem to be targeting women out for nothing more than a trail run or bike ride.
