This research presents a project with secondary school students and it draws mostly on what characterizes learning when students are exposed to Critical Thinking Tasks, the classes in which the research took place were intervened through different tasks which are mostly based upon Anderson s Taxonomy on Critical Thinking. This study was undertaken by pre-service teachers from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas and besides looking at the effects of implementing the usage of Critical Thinking Skills in the classroom, this research aimed to develop the learning of English as a Second Language. Furthermore throughout the study we were able to notice how students developed their own ideas about the world they live in and at the same time they were focusing on the language learning as well.
