In Devil's Country is set in the fictitious, small town of Dichburne, New Hampshire. It's an idyllic town, peaceful and prosperous. The local high school football team is remarkably successful and a great source of civic pride. But Dichburne has a past and a secret, both of which may be very dark. They may also explain the town's prosperity, and the football team's success.
Allan King is a retired LA homicide detective turned private eye. When an old friend calls asking him to look into his son's mysterious death, Allan packs up and heads across the country to New England. He quickly realizes he may have done more than crossed the country, he may have crossed over the line between reality and imagination. King struggles with his natural inclination toward skepticism and the events past and ongoing in Dichburne.
