JAKE The Awakening

JAKE: The Awakening launches the Scroll Bearer Universe, a Christian supernatural fiction series where faith, family, crime, redemption, mystery, and spiritual warfare collide.

Detective Jake Blake is more than a police investigator. He is also an archaeologist and scholar whose search for hidden history takes him to the mysterious country of Jeru Peru. There, Jake and his research partner, Sam White, uncover an ancient golden case containing a jeweled Bible, seven sealed scrolls, and a black leather jacket connected to the Whole Armor of God.

Jake believes he has discovered an extraordinary archaeological treasure. Instead, he discovers his destiny.

After returning home to Fifth Ward, Jake opens the ancient Bible and encounters the message of John 3:16. He surrenders his life to Jesus Christ, beginning a transformation that will change everything.

During a supernatural encounter, Jake is spiritually clothed with the Armor of God and receives a divine assignment. He is called to become Righteous Fellow, a hidden protector empowered by God to confront spiritual wickedness and help those caught in darkness. The seven scrolls remain sealed, waiting for God's appointed time to reveal their purpose.

But Jake is not the only one being drawn into the battle.

Best friends Meka King and Betty Parks are facing struggles of their own. Meka comes from a strong Christian family, while Betty lives beneath the anger and bitterness of her father, Alfred Parks. When Betty cries out to Jesus during a frightening confrontation, Righteous Fellow intervenes.

Soon afterward, Meka sees Righteous Fellow during a hospital visit and collapses into a coma. While her body remains hospitalized, her spirit begins preparing for a divine assignment in the spiritual realm.

Two years later, Meka's twin sister Tameka returns home after living a troubled life away from her family. Her return pulls her into an undercover police operation, dangerous relationships, crime, and choices that could determine her future.

Meanwhile, a mysterious Black Mist moves through Fifth Ward, appearing wherever anger, temptation, violence, and spiritual conflict rise. The darkness is connected to an unseen enemy whose identity remains hidden.

As crime, family struggles, supernatural encounters, and spiritual warfare begin to intersect, Jake realizes that his detective work and his calling as Righteous Fellow are becoming part of the same battle.

At the heart of the story are powerful themes of salvation, faith over fear, perseverance, righteousness, divine purpose, the Whole Armor of God, and transformation through God's Word.

The danger grows until Tameka is kidnapped, police investigations intensify, and Jake once again faces the Black Mist.

Then a voice whispers from the darkness:

"Who is it?"

Jake looks around.

No one is there.
