Eighteen-year-old Tori Bradigan is a small-town boy in New England, just an average lad of Irish descent. He's a well-liked kid, an intelligent kid, but bully someone in his presence and it's Tori you'll be dealing with. His best friend is Lelanya Low, a tall, slender girl with waist length raven black hair. They've been pals since their daycare days and could easily be considered inseparable. Tori knows he loves Lelanya, but not in the same way he loves the local 'Mean Girl' Petal Weaver. That's, just pure lust. Tori's world begins to fall apart when Lelanya announces that she will be accompanying her parents on a two week vacation to Eastern Europe. It's the first summer since day-one that they won't be spending together. Without Lelanya, Tori feels lost and adrift in the world. To make things worse, the town receives the news of a fatal plane crash in the Carpathian Mountains. Lelanya and her parents won't be coming home. Tori doubts the pain will ever end, well... that is, until one evening, weeks later, while hanging-out with his support group of friends at a popular gathering spot, he is shocked into wondering if serious grief can cause hallucinations or, if that dark figure standing in the shadows across the lot really was his beloved Lelanya.
