Management typically occurs in three stages: a surgical obturator placed immediately after surgery, an interim obturator provided within 3-4 weeks during healing, and a definitive obturator fabricated after 6-12 months once tissues stabilize. Advances in imaging, biomaterials, implants, bone grafting, microvascular reconstruction, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy have greatly improved rehabilitation outcomes.
