One of the foremost goals in the behavioral sciences is to understand how person and situation factors influence one another, and how they interact to produce behavior. Measuring and Modeling Persons and Situations presents major innovations and contributions to this goal, promoting deeper integration on these topics, cross-pollination of ideas across diverse academic disciplines, and to facilitate the development of practical applications such as matching people to jobs, understanding decision making, and predicting how a group of individuals will interact with one another. The book is organized around two overarching and interrelated themes. The first focuses on assessing the person and the situation, concentrating on methodological advances and techniques for inferring and measuring characteristics of the person and situation, and to show how these can be instantiated for measurement and predictive purposes.
