Melaninated is a collection of poetry that journeys through the landscapes of identity, belonging, womanhood, and love.

Through intimate reflections and raw honesty, Khanyisa explores what it means to grow up feeling different, to carry wounds that were never yours to bear, and to navigate a world that often teaches Black women to survive before teaching them how to be loved.

From childhood memories of longing and exclusion, to the painful lessons of beauty, acceptance, and self-worth, these poems trace the path of a woman learning to return to herself.
