Pour cela nous effectuons une e tude asymptotique variationnelle afin d obtenir une structure homoge ne et de terministe rendant compte du comportement me canique de ce mate riau. La strate gie de mode lisation consiste a de couper (suivant une direction x3) un cube en fines plaques d e paisseur h( ) de pendant d un tre s petit parame tre 1. Pour h( ) assez petit, nous supposerons que dans chaque plaque les fibres sont verticales. Notre proble me initial est alors de compose en n mode les de type plaque donnant une formulation 2-dimensionnelle apre s passage a la limite. Le mode le obtenu est de terministe. Puis, en utilisant ce re sultat pour chacune des plaques, on obtient ainsi une e nergie discre te, somme des n e nergies 2-dimensionnelles homoge nes et de terministes. Nous reconstruisons alors une structure 3D par une inte gration variationnelle en x3, i.e. en passant a la limite en n de manie re variationnelle. L e nergie limite, homoge ne et de terministe ainsi obtenue est propose e comme un mode le . Nos diffe rents re sultats sont valide s nume riquement.
