Nordic Christmas Stories

Six illustrated Christmas adventures for kids ages 8 to 12, to read on their own or share aloud with family.

A farm gnome furious about his missing butter. A giant straw goat with a secret. Christmas trolls who mistake a polar bear for a cat. And witches who borrow a robot vacuum for a midnight ride.

Nordic Christmas Stories brings young readers into six winter adventures inspired by the folklore of Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Today's children meet old Christmas legends in stories filled with mischief, courage, kindness, and family warmth.

Each chapter pairs a brief introduction to a Nordic tradition with a fictional adventure, so readers can discover the folklore and then step inside the story.

• Six stories: meet the tomte and nisse, the Yule goat, Lussi, the trolls of Dovrefjell, the Christmas Eve witches, and the Nuuttipukki.
• Seven full-page color illustrations, plus smaller illustrations throughout the book.

• 80 pages in a 6 x 9-inch format, with stories set in the Nordic north and Nordic-American communities.
