This first century poem seeks to explain the concepts behind Epicurean philosophy to the Roman people of the day. Many people in those times were religious and superstitious and the author attempts in this poem to explain the world and its phenomenon in scientific philosophy. This is done via the thinking of atomism using that line of philosophic thinking which has come back to full realization today in our scientific world. Although the work had its difficulties in convincing the people of its day, the poem still stands as an epic telling of higher thinking that we can study and learn from to expand our own ways of reasoning.
