Handsome, athletic Stone Ayers was done with the Army, done with college and living as ski instructor at Lake Tahoe when he met Dominic Balducci. Just what Dominic did for a living wasn't immediately clear, but whatever it was, he had to be good at it as money seemed to flow like water, so when Dominic asked if Stone might want to work for him, he was interested. When he was in the Army, Stone had discovered that killing people was easy for him, exciting in fact, and a deft, smart killer was exactly what Dominic needed. Things were going very well for Stone until Dominic wanted someone killed in a maddeningly complicated way. It was a job that put Stone on an expedition ship to Antarctica along with Dominic's intended victim. Once he's in place, the questions are, can this possibly be done, and can I get away with it? Further complicating his situation is his blossoming relationship with beautiful Gudrun, one of the expedition scientists and guides. In a life that had been punctuated by many casual affairs, this was a woman who affected him like no other.
