Peaceful Aging

Karen Casey is a nationally known and recognized author and public speaker, facilitating her 12-step recovery program. Her 28 books focus on her journey to sobriety from alcoholism as well as offering advice to those who are searching for recovery. Her intention for Peaceful Aging will propose readers find closure in the universal experience that aging offers individuals. A study done in Japan concluded that women outlived men drastically in their old-age due to the harsh work culture found in Japan. Many of these women experienced increased social isolation and depression due to their loss of a partner and resorted to petty theft and jail time so that they could live within community within their incarceration. Similar to women in Japan, female Americans are also experiencing a similar dilemma due to the lack of community and knowledge that aging takes on them. Karen is looking to reach the 11,120 Americans that are retiring from their current jobs every day that are then looking for a passion and direction after their retirement. Much of the United States and those around the world are experiencing a great demographic of their community is "graying," although, not many know how to accept or adapt to their newfound path in life in a positive manner.

One of Karen’s bestsellers, Each Day a New Beginning, is celebrating its 40th anniversary edition with over 4 million copies sold. She has been partaking in many events discussing her journey and her previous books, offering advice and knowledge of recovery.
