Over the last twenty years, the rise of Qur'anic studies has been one of the most remarkable developments in Islamological disciplines. Three major facts support this evolution: the renewal of sources available to researchers, the use of new methodologies of analysis and, a renewed reflection on hermeneutical orientations.
