Spirited Away

One of the last of the Greatest Generation, and one of the first of the Baby Boomers, Kathy was born with a curse. A curse that men would kill for and women would die for. It plagued her all her life, until she passed it on to her daughter, who turned it into a blessing and gave it back to Kathy.

Kathy traded her childhood for a wedding gown to be with the only man to challenge her. Three years later, Johnny traded his stagnant future for an Army uniform to fulfill his lifelong dream of flying.  

They soon join two other couples in Army flight school to share this part of their lives together. The six quickly form a bond stronger than anything except their love for each other. This relationship puts Kathy in a dilemma as to what is love, and what is her selfish desires.

Johnny sees himself as the best helicopter pilot the Army has ever produced, and he is determined to make everyone else aware of that fact, to the point his pride is threatening his relationship with Kathy.

Their life journey takes an intermission while Johnny goes to Vietnam and Kathy becomes a mother five months later.

Johnny returns from Vietnam to greet his wife Kathy and to meet his baby daughter Cinnamon. Life continues after the Army but Kathy finds herself remembering the times before Vietnam. They were some of the best and worst times of her life. She misses the unique friendships which will never be repeated. She also holds a secret from those days she will never tell anyone. Johnny also returns from Vietnam with his own secret.

Kathy follows Johnny in the world of helicopters, war, parenthood and life, leaving behind her childish dreams, her friends, and her secrets, and gladly replacing them all with the one they call Cinnamon.
