Conforming is not an obligation. Nor is loving.
Stella bipolare ventures into the shadowy regions of the human soul: where the fears that paralyse reside, where anger upends every balance, where reflections seek not answers but truths - naked, uncomfortable, sometimes redemptive.
It is a mosaic of seemingly disconnected thoughts and existential fragments, in which the invisible threads of family, affection, loss, vindication, acceptance, and that restless, irreducible thirst for freedom intertwine.
With a lucid, at times merciless gaze, it leads us into the fundamental contradictions of existence: the tension between who we are and who we are expected to be, between the need to belong and the need to determine our own path.
It is a meditation on the quiet courage of remaining true to oneself, even when the world seems to reward nothing but the mask.
For those who have loved, wept, fought, lost and been lost, and who, despite everything, continue to choose freedom.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
Stella bipolare was born from a deviation.
From the Stella Polare (Pole Star), the star that points the way, to a star that carries within it two opposing poles, two directions that can coexist within the same person.
I have chosen to leave the title in Italian because translating it would mean losing precisely what gave rise to it: that small fracture between Polare and bipolare, between the need for direction and the simultaneous presence of opposing forces within us.
