Born in a cluster of stars, Aithne is a faerie, and she comes to people in their darkest times, when they need a second soul the most. Then, Arthur's tear summons Aithne; his love story ended too soon. Monica also meets Aithne. She is a depressed girl who exists in the modern world. Lastly, Aithne finds a boy who lives in a time before words were even invented. With her wisdom, she offers comfort and guidance. Seemingly unconnected stories, these characters and their tales are linked with a force more powerful than time itself. Aithne's journey communicates that people's lives are not as meaningless as they might sometimes think.
