The Belonging Project

When the members of the Belonging Project visit the Maple Creek Animal Shelter, they expect to meet a few animals in need.

What they find is heartbreaking.

Kennels are full.

Cats crowd every available space.

And dozens of animals are waiting for families that may never come.

Determined to help, Lily Harper and her friends launch their biggest project yet. From community awareness campaigns and adoption events to town-wide rallies and inspiring stories, the students work together to give overlooked animals a second chance.

Along the way, they meet unforgettable shelter residents like Buddy, a lovable senior dog; Pepper, a shy black cat; Rusty, a three-legged survivor; and Oliver, a quiet dog who has been waiting nearly a year for someone to choose him.
