The Descent

Before the river flowed, before the mountains rose, there was God.
Throughout Scripture, water bears witness to His presence, His provision, and His power to give life. From the Spirit moving upon the waters of creation to the pure river flowing from the throne of God, a sacred thread runs through the biblical story.
In Descent, the first book of the Eternal Water Series, R.Z. Wren follows that thread through the waters of creation, the dew of covenant, the wilderness rock, and the blood and water flowing from the side of Jesus Christ. These passages invite readers to consider how the eternal God draws near to His creation-and how His life reaches the thirsty human soul.
Rooted in the King James Scriptures, Descent brings together biblical reflection, and the wonder of the natural world. Through an exploration of the oneness of God, it draws attention to the unity of His work in creation, redemption, and the indwelling of His Spirit.
For readers who hunger for a deeper understanding of Scripture and a closer walk with Jesus, Descent offers an invitation to trace the river to its Source.
The God who waters the earth also fills the heart.
