The Great War in Heaven began centuries ago between angels loyal to God and those who sided with Lucifer over the fate of humanity. The Archangel Michael led God's army and won the War. Lucifer and the angels who sided with him were cast down from the Heavens to Earth and could never return. The cast-out angels would be forever known as the Fallen.

Jakiele, who had been on Earth for centuries, had always obeyed Michael without question, but his existence had become unbearably lonely. Unfortunately, Jakiele did not know that the decision to start having humans become part of his life would lead to the involvement in a demon-led conspiracy to cover up a grisly murder.
Jakiele was suddenly thrust into a life or death race against time to save the one woman he had come to care about deeply. Jakiele knew he was risking God's wrath by falling in love with a beautiful human woman that he knew he could never have. Jakiele would have to decide whether he should intervene or risk becoming one of the Fallen himself.
