Finn Brodie's parents are separating, and it really sucks. When he moves with his dad to a small town in Illinois for the summer, he thinks it will be the worst ever.
His mind starts to change when he meets a hilarious gang of guys who play football every day in a shabby, empty lot. He quickly becomes friends with their leader, Billy, and finds himself falling for Billy's sister, Riley.
But it soon becomes clear that Billy and Riley are facing some serious troubles at home, and Finn feels like he's become invisible to his parents. Feeling like they are out of options, the three of them decide to run away in an old, busted up RV on a daring quest for something more. Along the way, Finn learns that home is so much more than a place and friendship heals all.
