The Liturgy of Father Edward

The Liturgy of Father Edward follows two souls-a weary priest losing faith in himself and a quiet girl living under the shadows of generational sin-whose lives intersect through a miracle neither fully understands.

In Pine Valley, the troubled priest slips out before dawn to smoke behind a lilac bush, and the schoolgirl, named Christine, aching under the weight of family secrets, senses God's presence in her daily prayers with the nuns. Their lives mystically intersect at an old mining site called Dochero, and their stories echo across time-revealing the unseen mercy and grace that have shaped their lives from the beginning.

Told with tenderness, humor, and unflinching honesty, this is a story about generational wounds, divine interruptions, and the quiet ways God slips into our lives-wherever we let Him in.

"A beautifully-written, heartfelt, and compelling story of guilt and healing." Marion Goodwin

"In her third novel, Kate has created the story of a whimsical mother and her grounded daughter living in another era, and yet it's a world like our own in which much-needed grace is given as an outflow of love." Linda Martin

Kate Hiller was born in Northern California, and spent her young life trailing cattle, fixing fence, and enjoying time with family in the high desert. Her husband and three children have since blessed her with many adventures around the world. This is her third novel. Apart from her creative writing, Kate feels the most joy when telling others' stories in her monthly columns. Every person is made in the image of God, and Kate loves to find Him in them.
