The new standard reference book on training the eye for correct vs. incorrect riding.
Horse-friendly training or misunderstood dressage?-Is the training system in modern equestrian sport on the wrong track? In her new book, Anja Beran, one of the most highly regarded representatives of classical dressage, answers this question.
After years of observing the dressage world, Anja Beran opens the reader's eyes. Through the analysis of striking photographic sequences, she contrasts obvious training errors and undesirable developments with movement studies that illustrate horse-friendly, correct training.
The problem lies within the system itself: the training of horses is increasingly adapted to the desire for spectacular performances rather than to the horses' well-being, which should be the foundation for a long, healthy future.
Many riders fall victim to the misconception that the proper path of training can be shortened. In doing so, they often fail to consider the physical and psychological strain to which their horses are subjected. The result is the development of movement patterns that frequently bear little resemblance to the horse's natural gaits.
This book not only exposes these misguided approaches but also offers practical solutions for horse-friendly training that respects the horse's nature, welfare, and long-term soundness.
