Wisdom Has No Rank

What if the person you most need to learn from is someone you think you already understand-or someone you believe you outrank?

Wisdom Has No Rank begins with a daughter correcting her father's memory. From there, Darren Dang explores a simple but demanding idea: wisdom can come from any direction, but only if we remain teachable enough to receive it.

Through candid stories of marriage, parenting, mentorship, leadership, travel, language, loss, and everyday life, Dang shows how the people around us can reveal our blind spots, complete our strengths, sharpen our decisions, and return our own lessons in forms we never anticipated.

Children become teachers. Junior colleagues see what leaders miss. An unfamiliar word carries what English cannot. A longer route reveals what efficiency leaves unseen.

This is not an argument that every opinion is equally informed-or that expertise, authority, and responsibility do not matter. It is an invitation to keep judgment open long enough for another person's experience, evidence, or perspective to genuinely test it.

Reflective, practical, and deeply personal, Wisdom Has No Rank asks two questions that can change how we lead, love, mentor, and learn:

Who have I stopped learning from because I think I outrank them?

Who have I stopped learning from because I think I already understand them?
