Angel and Mister Bumble

Anthony Bumble is the richest and most feared man in his town. Proud, arrogant, and cruel, he believes his money and power place him above everyone else — even God. Though he attends church every Sunday, his heart is filled with pride rather than worship. One day, while listening to the church choir, he hears the meaning of a hymn that says God removes the mighty from their thrones and lifts up the poor. Instead of receiving the message with humility, Bumble becomes furious, declaring himself the greatest man on earth.But heaven hears his boast.To teach him a lesson, God sends an angel to take away everything that has made Bumble proud — his fine clothes, his wealth, his power, and even his identity. The angel takes on Bumble's appearance, while the real Bumble wakes up in filthy rags, locked inside the church and unrecognized by anyone. The guard thinks he is a madman. His own servants and mansion guards reject him. Even when he reaches the gates of his grand home, no one believes he is the master.Forced to live as a poor servant and entertainer in his own mansion, Bumble slowly begins to understand the pain and humiliation he once caused others. His pride breaks, and his heart changes. In tears, he repents before God, finally realizing that wealth and power mean nothing without humility, kindness, and justice.When the angel reveals himself, Bumble learns that his blessings were never truly his own, but gifts from God. Restored to his former position, Bumble returns not as the proud tyrant he once was, but as a wiser, kinder, and humbler man.
