Argentina

This book is of particular importance, as it is one of the few studies that focuses on the history of Latin America and its foreign relations with the rest of the world, including, of course, the United States. Its significance lies in clarifying the major role the United States plays in imposing its hegemony over Latin American countries, including Argentina, exerting control over them, and exploiting and depleting their resources to a great extent. It is important to research and study the history of Latin American countries in general, and the United States' policy towards them in particular, given the region's importance to the US. Furthermore, it is crucial to study the Peronist experience and understand its various dimensions, including the economic, social, and political reforms it implemented, which impacted US dominance within Latin America. Therefore, the United States was unwilling to allow Argentina to succeed and waited for the opportune moment to instigate a genuine economic crisis in Argentina. Accordingly, this book aims to study American policy towards Argentina during the period between (1943 - 1955), monitor its development stages, and analyze it in light of the events and developments that it went through on the one hand, and the global developments related to the American-Soviet conflict, on the other hand, in addition to shedding light on an aspect of American interventions in the internal affairs of Latin American countries, in defense of its economic interests.
