Sokollu Mehmed Pasha and Mimar Sinan Agha, two historical figures from 16th-century Serbia, are the subject of our narrative. We explore the role of multiple identities in their lives, witnessing how their identities shifted from their names to their nationalities. We see how history dictated a path vastly different from their origins, and how they rose to become two of the most important figures of their era, achieving feats in war, victories, and architectural construction, all while preserving their ancient Serbian identity. The author also recounts his journeys exploring the nature of identity and its evolution over time in the modern age, through encounters with several contemporary writers with whom he shared conversations and experiences. In this unique narrative structure, weaving together past and present, the author weaves his ideas about identity throughout history, narrating them all within a single narrative space. He doesn't merely tell the stories of specific individuals, but rather the story of all those whose destinies and times were divided into two distinct paths within a single life.
