Is sustainable agriculture a dream or an achievable reality?

Agriculture and nutrition are among our most pressing issues, and unfortunately, we are now debating whether agriculture is sustainable or not. This book is not merely a critical text, but one that offers proposed solutions and supports them with concrete examples from around the world. Global agriculture has become a structure plagued by serious internal problems. The exacerbation of these problems is a direct result of the industrial system, and the situation has been further aggravated by the effects of global climate change, which could lead to the complete annihilation of crop and grain production. This book does not present a comprehensive model of all agricultural problems and their solutions in Turkey and the world at large. We will not even address issues for which political solutions have already been proposed by various well-known opposition groups. However, we will attempt to shed light in detail on several points that some of these groups do not consider major problems, or even if they are considered problems, they are deemed secondary and not currently on the main agenda. We will show how these issues have begun to take a worrying turn. In our humble opinion, these topics of great importance are a legacy from the past, but they are fundamentally about the future and must be addressed from an environmental perspective. In this book, we will limit ourselves to posing the basic questions at times, and we will review radical solutions at other times. We will also leave the end of some solutions open, as we do not present an ideal model because the two models that have been put forward so far have been characterized by complete failure in the view of the Green Party.
