Prosecutor Adam Thorne and former escort Angelique's romantic idyll is short-lived, destroyed by yet another press article vilifying her and questioning their new and still fragile relationship. The intrusive media attention is not the only obstacle they have to overcome, however. Sinister figures from their pasts emerge, and Adam is brought face-to-face with the man responsible for his mother's death.
